Philadelphia happens to be one of my favorite cities. I worked in Center City Philly for five years and really grew to love the town. I've been a Batman fan since I was a little kid so it goes without saying that The Dark Knight is one of my favorite movies. For this project I decided to bring the Dark Knight and his nemesis the Joker to the City of Brotherly Love in a rather nightmarish dreamscape scene. I started with an image of Philadelphia at night. From there I brought in a painting of the Joker and used it in place of the night sky. Batman was next. I color corrected him so he had more of a sepia quality that would fit the evening lighting of the city. Fire, smoke and explosions were added to the buildings to give a sense of the city being under siege. Finally, I inserted Batman on a rooftop about to spring into action. Can you spot him?
